Tonight I have a glass (my next to last) of Macallan 12 year. The youngest of the Macallans (read: cheapest), it is still an excellent scotch. Just a little peety edge, and a significant sweetness that is very pleasing to the palette. I once had a contractor send me a bottle of Macallan 25 as a present. That was a sweet (and expensive!) bottle. I nursed it for a year, but it is now long gone. Since I can't see myself dropping a couple hundred bucks on a bottle of anything, and since I am now a contractor myself, the Macallan 25 will remain a memory to me.
The 12 year is quite nice though....
